Become a Trauma Healing

Leader in Your Faith Community

Thank you for your interest in participating in the

Trauma Healing Institute Cohort, offered by Courage to Love

and the City of Chicago. Organizations accepted into this program

will receive faith-based trauma healing training, mentorship, funding,

and resources to support healing in their communities.

Eligibility Requirements:

Be located in Chicago
Have a FEIN number
Have full support from their lead spiritual leader or director
Demonstrate a commitment to becoming a trauma-responsive, healing-centered faith community
Attend an informational session or watch the recorded orientation

Participants must:

Send 2–3 lay leaders or staff members to participate in the cohort training and commit to facilitating trauma healing groups
Offer at least two healing groups in 2025
Work in partnership with Courage to Love through the end of 2025
Designate a representative to meet monthly with the Courage to Love team for planning and progress updates
Host a half-day trauma training for staff or ministry leaders
Participate in program evaluation and feedback activities
